Almirante Reis Avenue in three movements and The Invisible Island premiered at Doclisboa 2018
On October 21st, the film directed by Renata Sancho, Almirante Reis Avenue in three movements, had its premiere in the Portuguese Competition of Doclisboa’s festival. Before a full room in the São Jorge Cinema, the director presented her feature and, in the end, she participated in a debate about the it.
This film, that portrays one of the biggest avenues in Lisbon, was shown again on the morning of the following day, this time in Culturgest, in a screening aimed at school groups. The director was present once more and she was able to answer questions after the session had ended.
The director Rui Almeida Paiva also had his first film premiered at this festival which is dedicated to documentaries. The Invisible Island was part of a Green Year’s session that was screened at October 25th, along with two other short films, in Cinema São Jorge.
After the session was over, Rui Almeida Paiva, who already has an established career as a writer, presented his new book “Canções de Embalar Belos Planetas Cansados”. This work was inspired in his experience while shooting The Invisible Island.
